Scanning a Photo:
It is best to scan photos at 600dpi. If they are old they can be restored easier at this level. The minimum should be 300 dpi. That is the lowest for good quality printing. Your pictures need to be in the jpg format.
Jpg, gif and tif formats are the only type you can upload

Adding stories to the blog:
Each addition is done by adding a "New Post" or putting a story in a comment. It is best to add a post unless you have something that helps correct a previous post.
1. To create a new post simply go to the upper right hand corner and "Sign In". Once you are into the blog press "New Post".  (Just click on the below image if you want to see it enlarged.)

2. You will see the below screen that has a page title box. Please put something in that entry that describes the post. Then go below to the box and type away or add photos. 

3. There is another smaller box below the text box where you can put labels. If you are not comfortable with this I can edit and add the appropriate labels after you have done your post.
4. When you are done press the orange "Publish Page" button to save your post and it will be added to the blog.

5. You can then return to the Blog by clicking on either "View Post" in the middle left of the screen or "View Blog" up in the blue to the right of the tabs. If you are not happy with how it looks or want to correct spelling then you click the back button at the top of your web browser and go to "Edit post". This takes you back into the post and you will have to publish it again to add it to the blog when you are done.

Adding photos to the blog:

Follow the above steps 1 and 2. When you open a new post you will see two tabs, Edit HTML and Compose. There is a picture on the toolbar just above the text window and below those tabs. Click on that and it will take you to a box (like the one below) where you can find the photos you want and add the selected photos.
Please upload your pictures in the original size at the largest image size on the upload screen. Notice that you must select the image size as Large. If you can please put the date in your post when it was taken and people in the photo that would be great.
3. To find your pictures on your computer click on the Browse button and go to where the picture is on your computer. Select that photo and press "Add" at the bottom of that window.
4. Click Upload and wait. Another window will pop up and let you know when it is done. Click Done and it will be in your post box.
6. When you are done with your post click on the "Publish" button like before.
